San Francisco put 35 on us. I watched every minute of it, and I have some feelings.
There's a point in a game like that where you stop yelling at the TV and start bargaining with it. Just give me one good drive. I'll take a field goal, I'm not greedy. By the end of Sunday I had nothing left to offer.
35-13. Two weeks in, two road losses, and the second one was worse than the first. I'm not going to sit here and tell you what went wrong on which play. You watched it too. What I can tell you is what it was like on my end, which is that I didn't turn it off. I thought about it. My thumb was on the remote. I stayed.
Why I stay
Because leaving early is a habit, and once you start you don't stop. I've been a Dolphins fan long enough to know the good Sundays only count if you were there for the bad ones. Nobody gets to brag about a win they didn't suffer for. That's the deal we all signed, and I read the fine print.
Somebody in the group chat said they were going to mow the lawn instead of watching the second half. I respect it. I also noticed they were back in the chat ten minutes later asking what the score was. That's a Dolphins fan. We leave the room, but we don't leave.
0-2 is a record. It's not a personality.
The good news, and I mean it
We're coming home. Week 3 is at Hard Rock against Kansas City, and I don't care who is on the other sideline, a first home game is a first home game. I want that building loud before kickoff. That part is on us, the fans, and it's the one part of this I know we can win.
So eat early, drink water and wear the aqua. If you're going, come find me in the lot. If you're watching from somewhere else, check the watch party list and don't watch alone. Losing is bad. Losing by yourself is worse.
